Our November meeting/study group is next Sunday, November 19, 1-5 p.m. at Lauritzen Gardens’ adult classroom.
Kicking off the meeting will be Mark Samuels, who is freshly returned from a month in Japan and will share some of what he saw and learned there regarding bonsai. Following will be our regular study group. Bring your trees to work on and questions to ask regarding overwintering, etc.
If you are able to carry everything neatly in one trip, it is okay to come in the front/public entrance door. If you have a wagon or a large tree, please drive down the east side of the building to the first door and bring your materials in that way, through the exhibit hall and down the back hallway. Then move your car to a regular lot.
Our December meeting will be a social and our annual raffle, on Dec. 2, 10-noon, also at Lauritzen.
We urge you to comb through your bonsai plants and supplies and donate anything you no longer love to the raffle, our biggest fundraiser of the year. Please send a description and photo to email@example.com so we can promote the raffle with specifics. Here is a preview of what you will see at our raffle this year!
The NBS Board wants to alert you to an event of interest this spring: “Gateway to Bonsai,” a national show and expo with many exhibitors, seminars, workshops and vendors. It will be held April 19-22 in Collinsville, IL, 10 minutes east of St. Louis. While the club is not sponsoring transportation, several members already have made plans to attend. See www.absbonsai.org for full information and registration.
Take full advantage of your membership! Come out to our meetings. Not a member yet? You are welcome to visit during our November meeting and join before our members-only December raffle (see www.nebonsai.org). We hope to see you soon.
Once again, we apologize for the mix-up regarding the October meeting at Finke Gardens.
